EN13782 and EN1090 regulations: what you need to know

VALL ‘s industrial buildings and industrial tents comply with the strict European regulations relating to structures: the EN13782 and EN1090 regulations. Do you know what they indicate and what guarantees compliance with these European regulations? We are going to get to know them in depth, since they are indicative of the quality, strength and safety of our metal structures.

UNE EN 13782 relative to temporary structures.

What is EN 13782?

It is a European regulation that affects manufacturers of metal structures whose products are going to be sold or installed in EU countries

Outside the European Union it is not valid, although it is considered and understood as a guarantee of quality and safety, so, without being mandatory, it is an appreciated value.

On which structures does the UNE EN 13782 regulation apply?

This standard applies to assembled removable industrial buildings of more than 50 m2: its structure, cladding, anchorage and all other components that form part of it once installed.

It also applies to sets of installations with several attached, adjoining or nearby structures whose total area adds up to 50 m² or more

What is the objective of the UNE EN 13782 standard?

Guarantee the safety, resistance and stability of the temporary constructions on which it is applied.

EN13782 and EN1090 regulations: what you need to know

In order to offer this guarantee, the specific regulations detail a series of guidelines that must be taken into account in all the processes and phases that are part of its construction.

And what are those phases or procedures?

  • Design.
  • Calculation.
  • Manufacturing.
  • Installation.
  • Maintenance.
  • Utilization.
  • Check.
  • Finished product tests.

VALL and the EN 13782 standard

At VALL, all of our temporary structures, such as removable industrial buildings and removable tents, comply with EN 1372. Not only those that are required to do so by law. Also those less than 50m2 exempt from compliance.

It is part of our corporate commitment to safety and quality in all our products.

UNE-EN 1090 standard relating to structures manufactured in steel and aluminum workshops.

What is the UNE EN 1090 and on what structures does this regulation apply?

Both the EN 13782 and EN 1090 are mandatory regulations for the sale of steel and aluminum structures on the EU market.

It is applied in the manufacturing process of steel and aluminum structures that are manufactured in workshops or factories, both for parts and for complete kits.

It is also mandatory for structures intended to be permanently incorporated into a civil work or building, as well as structures intended to support loads, subject to a structural design or calculation.

What is the objective of the UNE EN 1090 standard?

Guarantee the safety, strength and quality of the steel and aluminum elements that are part of all metal structures.

To guarantee this quality, UNE EN 1090 governs:

  • The bearing capacity of each piece of steel or aluminum in the metal structure.
  • Their fire resistance.
  • The resistance to fatigue that these same components of metallic structures must have.

The objective is that failures of this type do not occur due to the elements that make up the structure. And that they will not be caused by the use that is given to them, provided that this use is that for which they have been built.

This is a regulation that came into force in July 2014 in order to be able to market and introduce a safe and quality-tested product on the European market.

EN13782 and EN1090 regulations: what you need to know

What does the EN 1090 standard require for manufacturers of steel and aluminum structures?

To issues as relevant as:

  • Implement a Factory Production Control that in turn includes a Welding Quality Control Plan.
  • Carry out a complete and detailed documentary control related to the manufacturing processes, purchase management, traceability and non-conformities.
  • To carry out the correct labeling of all its steel and aluminum metal parts and products that must comply with this regulation.
  • To make all the necessary information about these products and to guarantee compliance with the UNE EN 1090 regulation
  • Develop Initial Type Tests or Calculations (EIT).

VALL and the UNE EN 1090 regulation

. Since the entry into force of this regulation, in the summer of 2014, at VALL we have adhered to it. Our commitment to quality and safety means that we strictly monitor its updates, which have already been several over the years.

Thanks to being certified with the EN 13782 and EN1090 regulations, we build our own removable steel buildings and removable aluminium buildings for the European market and those outside the EU. And we are also legally authorized to sell our metal structures to other distribution and assembly companies, whether they are part of the EU space or outside the European market.

Compliance with the EN 13782 and EN 1090 regulations not only allows us to comply with the strict current regulations to sell in the CE market. It also allows us to certify the quality of our products and our extreme attention to their safety and stability in markets outside of Europe.

For this reason, in addition to complying with these European certificates, we abide by the Structural Eurocodes which, although they are not legally mandatory, are referenced in the EN 13782 and EN 1090 regulations and which guarantee the correct calculation of the ship’s properties. detachable end.
